Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

Dear Citizen

Firstly, may I thank you for your work for NW during the pandemic -it has been a challenging time for all and crime did reduce but has increased again. I have followed Sue Holden on social media and her wonderful work in your community, which many of you may have been involved with. Your Community Centre certainly has been a hub of activity and a lifeline for your community.

Katy Cockram may have informed you that she has resigned as Area Coordinator  If anyone wishes to apply please let me know and I can discuss with you. It is preferable to have a local resident who can find Coordinators in the area, support other Coordinators as needed and known in the community. Also if you are aware of a resident wanting  to be a Coordinator please let me know and I will help set them up.

Meanwhile, I hope to be helpful - if you need window stickers, cold calling stickers or road signs I can deliver them to you and leaflets to deliver to your neighbours -  although my experience is that door knocking or personal invitations work best.

The more members in your scheme the better.  NW  members are asked to be aware and report all suspicions to the police and then to you to share with your members. All registered members receive Alerts automatically  whereas non-registered  members are reliant on you sending them. There may be other local information you share that will be done by email. As an approved Coordinator you  are the main contact with your local police and many of you will know them personally. If you wish to speak to your PCSO then I can arrange this, it is a golden opportunity to let them know what your concerns are.

I have collated lots of information and posters about crime prevention that can be  forwarded to your members  if interested.  I also have a Facebook page for Oxford Neighbourhood Watch - this focuses on crime reports and information in Oxford and surrounding area but is not local to your area. Anyone who joins (and not registered as you are) is termed a supporter and not eligible for discounts or access to the NW website. If you have not received these discounts to forward to members please let me know. Many have been negotiated for Oxford only - home security, home and car insurance so may be an incentive for new membership as well as all the other benefits.

If your circumstances have changed and you are no longer able to remain as a Coordinator please could you let me know.Citizen

I would be grateful if you wish to contact me to use my email address or reply icon on Alert.
My email address is and I look forward to hearing from you.

Anyone is welcome to join the Facebook page to receive extra information and make comments.

I would like to thank you for your commitment to keeping your community safe and I hope that you are all well and  please stay safe.
