The South Neighbourhood Policing Team is pleased to share some positive news with the community. Since the reopening of the local knife surrender bin in Central Bletchley approximately one month ago, a total of 67 bladed articles have been safely surrendered and removed from circulation.
Central BletchleyThe knife surrender bin located at Sycamore Hall, Bletchley has seen 67 bladed articles deposited during the first month since reopening. This is an excellent result and demonstrates the positive impact that the surrender bin is having within the community. Every knife surrendered is one less weapon that could potentially be used to cause harm. Location: Sycamore Hall, Bletchley
West BletchleyThe knife surrender bin serving West Bletchley has also seen positive use, with 11 bladed articles safely surrendered during the same period. Whilst the number is smaller, every item removed from circulation contributes towards making our neighbourhoods safer and reducing the risk of knife-related harm. Location: 12 Melrose Ave, Bletchley, Milton Keynes MK3 6PA
Working Together to Keep Our Communities SafeThe South Neighbourhood Policing Team would like to thank everyone who has used these facilities responsibly and supported efforts to reduce knife-related harm across our communities. These figures demonstrate the positive difference that can be made when residents, partner agencies and local policing teams work together.
Both knife surrender bins remain available for anyone wishing to safely and anonymously dispose of bladed articles.
Together, we continue to make Central Bletchley, West Bletchley and the wider South policing area safer places to live, work and visit.
