Illegal E-Scooters & E-Bikes – Robust Action 🚨 |
||
|
The North East Oxford Neighbourhood Policing Team will be taking robust action against the illegal use of e-scooters and e-bikes across the area. We continue to receive concerns from residents regarding the use of these vehicles on roads, pavements and other public areas, including reports of dangerous riding, excessive speeds and anti-social behaviour. ⚠️ Please be aware: Privately owned e-scooters cannot legally be ridden on public roads, pavements or cycle paths. They can only be used on private land with the landowner’s permission. E-bikes must also meet the relevant legal requirements to be used on public roads and cycle paths. Where vehicles do not comply with the legislation, enforcement action may be taken. 👮♂️ Our team will be conducting targeted patrols and enforcement activity, and where appropriate we will seize vehicles and take further action against those found riding illegally. We understand that the vast majority of residents want to feel safe in their communities. We will continue working with residents and partner agencies to tackle the issues that matter most locally. 📱 If you see someone riding an illegal e-scooter or e-bike, please report it to Thames Valley Police. Your information can help us identify hotspots and target our patrols effectively. North East Oxford Neighbourhood Policing Team Working with our communities to keep North East Oxford safe | ||
