Appeal for witnesses following assaults and public order offences – Reading |
||
|
We are appealing for witnesses following assaults and public order offences in Reading. Between 10pm and 11pm on Thursday 23 July, a woman in her thirties was sexually assaulted by a man on the University of Reading campus, between the on-site Co-op and the International Study and Language Institute building. The man then physically assaulted two further victims at the same location: a man in his twenties and a man in his forties. The suspect was subsequently detained and is also reported to have made racial comments and threats towards another man. After his arrest, he continued to make a number of racial comments. The woman in her thirties and the man in his twenties sustained minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment. A 27-year-old man from Reading has been arrested on suspicion of attempted rape, assaults and public order offences. He has been released on conditional bail whilst enquiries are ongoing. We are particularly keen to hear from anybody who was in the area between 10pm and 11pm who may have seen the incident or the moments leading up to it. Anyone who may have witnessed this, has CCTV, dash cam or mobile phone footage before or after this incident is urged to get in contact. Anyone with information should call 101 or make a report online quoting reference 43260379091. | ||
