Man jailed for shoplifting, stealing from vehicles and other offences in Newbury

Following our investigation, a man has been jailed for shoplifting, stealing from vehicles and other offences in Newbury.

The 38-year-old man, of no fixed abode, was jailed for 26 weeks at court on Thursday after stealing £180.80-worth of goods from businesses in the town on two occasions in April and May.

The man also admitted to stealing from two vehicles, interfering with seven others and fraudulently using a bank card, all on one street on 8 January.

The Newbury Neighbourhood Team will continue to protect the town centre by ensuring those who commit such offences are pursued and held accountable through the courts.
