Tackling wildlife crime in Windsor |
||
|
Hello Resident, We carried out a targeted day of action in Windsor last Friday (24/4) as part of an ongoing operation focused on protecting wildlife. Throughout the operation, officers patrolled key locations known for wildlife concerns, engaging with the public and taking enforcement action where necessary including Windsor, Datchet, Horton and Wraysbury. The activity resulted in the following outcomes: Neighbourhood officers and PCSOs in Windsor are working to prevent and detect wildlife crime, while also improving community safety through proactive policing and reassurance patrols. PC Will Franklin, from Windsor neighbourhood policing team, said “We are committed to protecting our communities and wildlife. “It’s important that wildlife crime is reported at the time, as it allows us to gather intelligence and take effective action. “We want to hear from anyone who has seen individuals using catapults to shoot wildlife, or any other behaviour that puts wildlife at risk. “Anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101 or report online. In an emergency, always call 999.”
