Here are practical steps you can take to reduce the risk of theft: Use a Steering Wheel Lock · High-visibility locks act as a strong visual deterrent. · Choose a Thatcham-approved device for maximum protection. Install an Immobiliser or Vehicle Tracker · An aftermarket immobiliser prevents the engine from starting without the correct fob. · A GPS tracker can help authorities recover the vehicle if it’s taken. Protect Keyless Entry Fobs · Store keys in a Faraday pouch to block relay attacks. · Avoid leaving keys near doors or windows. Park Strategically · Park in a well-lit area or preferably in a garage. · If possible, block your vehicle in with another car. Install CCTV or a Video Doorbell · Visible surveillance acts as a deterrent and provides vital evidence if a crime occurs. · Ensure cameras are positioned to monitor both the vehicle and street access.
