A reminder to our community: farmers’ fields are not playgrounds.  

We’ve recently been informed of a quad bike being ridden across a local farmer’s field, causing serious damage to newly planted crops.
At this time of year, crops are extremely vulnerable.
Driving over them can wipe out large areas of growth, leading to costly losses for farmers and affecting the supply chain that keeps food on our shelves.

As a result of this offence, an individual has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, and the quad bike involved has been seized. 
If the rider cannot prove legal ownership, it will not be returned.

Please respect the land that feeds us. If you wish to ride motocross or quad bikes, please use designated private land or seek permission from the landowner. 
Damaging farmland is not acceptable.
