Burglary Shipton Under Wychwood

On Thursday the 19th of February at approximately 20:00, a burglary occurred at an address on The High Street in Shipton Under Wychwood. TVP crime reference number 43260085227.

This appears to be part of a series of burglaries in the Chipping Norton area.

Thieves are looking to steal cash and jewellery and will often search for a safe. 

This incident is a reminder for everyone to stay vigilant and take steps to secure your homes. Ensure that all doors and windows are locked. Bolt to solid concrete (If it’s not bolted, it’s portable, even a 100kg safe can be dragged.)

Bad hiding spot for a safe, main bedroom, under the bed, wardrobe floor or garage.

Good hiding spot for a safe, behind built in furniture or behind a false panel.

Reinforce the room, not just the safe.

Keep a cheap decoy safe semi visible and hide the real safe elsewhere. This works surprisingly well.
