We want to make residents aware of a recent rise in vehicle‑related crime in the area, particularly involving the cloning or interception of keyless entry fobs. Criminals are using electronic devices to capture the signal from key fobs, allowing them to unlock and start vehicles without physically taking the keys.

To help protect your vehicle, please consider the following steps:

Store key fobs away from doors and windows, ideally in a signal‑blocking pouch (often called a Faraday pouch).

Check that your vehicle is locked - don’t rely solely on the automatic locking sound.

Use additional security measures, such as steering wheel locks or driveway posts.

Keep software and apps updated if your vehicle uses connected features.

Report any suspicious behaviour - such as individuals loitering near driveways or vehicles—to the police via the non‑emergency number 101.
