Re-Introducing Your Kidlington Neighbourhood Policing Team Over the past year, the Kidlington Neighbourhood Team has undergone significant changes, and we felt it was time to reintroduce ourselves to the community. Not everyone visits the Thames Valley Police website, so here’s a quick overview of who we are and what we do.
Meet the Team:
Police Constables: Harry joined our team in June on secondment and has quickly established himself on the showing his drive and enthusiasm. He has planned and successfully executed Drug Warrants and is keen to provide proactive patrols for the Kidlington community in support of the priorities that you set.
Alec will be joining our team at the end of February supervising and supporting the PCSO’s and driving Patrol plans and community engagement. Alec brings with him extensive experience from Response teams and the Proactive team. With this background in policing he is well versed in tackling drug related crime and has a good knowledge of the local area.
Police Community Support Officers:
One of our longest-serving PCSO’s and a familiar face around Kidlington Ian is a pivotal member of the team. In addition to providing a High visibility presence around the Kidlington area Ian drives our Monthly Have Your say roadshow around the surrounding villages. Ian is a wealth of local knowledge however he is always keen to learn more from the community so feel free to stop and chat to him when you see him out and about.
Jessica joined our team in April 2025 and quickly demonstrated her eagerness to get out on patrols and engage with the community. Jessica will be driving our primary school engagements for Kidlington and surrounding area’s particularly around our PC Ben talks (Link) in addition to providing High visibility patrols.
Thomas has proven himself to be a proactive officer ever since joining the team in 2023. He is always keen to get straight out on patrol and target the area’s that the Community highlight as the areas of concern. He has dealt with and approached longstanding neighbourhood issues with a long term problem solving approach. Having initially crewed with PCSO Ian Wilkins he was quick to pick up on the local knowledge and has in turn passed this knowledge on to PCSO Jessica Platt during tutoring enabling them to target their patrols effectively.
We work closely with Incident & Crime Response teams, and our teams focus is on community priorities set by you every three months whilst also investigating neighbourhood crimes including but not limited to Anti-social Behaviour and Retail Crime. We aim to build strong relationships, tackle local issues, and keep the Kidlington community safe. How You Can Help: Your feedback shapes our priorities.
