Police Crack Down on Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour in Maidenhead Town Centre

Maidenhead’s Neighbourhood Policing Team (NHPT) has completed a series of proactive days of action between 28 and 31 December to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour (ASB) across the town centre and surrounding areas.

During this operation, officers engaged with over 30 local businesses, providing tailored crime prevention advice and guidance on how to report incidents effectively. Businesses were also updated on the steps Thames Valley Police are taking to combat shoplifting and ASB + given suitable advice on how to report offences taking place.

High-visibility patrols were carried out in key locations including Nicholson's Centre, Queen Street, King Street, High Street, Alpine Close, Greenfields, Market Street etc. Officers also conducted reassurance patrols around local Mosques and the Synagogue as per usual day to day business.

Throughout the three-day initiative. Officers have also patrolled Pinkney's Green, Winter Hill and Brunel Close in the attempt to combat ASB in the lead up to the new year.

Two prolific shoplifting offenders were arrested, remanded, and charged—one for multiple breaches of a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).

A large group of youths involved in ASB were identified and dispersed, with Voluntary Interviews (VIs) arranged to progress investigations.

Multiple pieces of valuable intelligence were gathered and submitted for further action.

An adult protection referral was also completed for a vulnerable person to try and get them the help they need.
