Operation Grotto update |
||
|
The teams across TVP Buckinghamshire have been continuing their high visibility anti burglary patrols, responding to suspicious incidents and any reports of burglary whether they are in progress or have just taken place. Recently they have focusing their patrols around the areas of Marlow, Burnham, Stoke Poges, Amersham, Beaconsfield and the Chalfonts in response to reports.
We are pleased to see that burglary numbers across Bucks are continuing to decrease, according to our crime data there has been a further reduction this month compared to the same time last month.
It is almost Christmas which means our winter burglary campaign Operation Grotto will be concluding soon, but TVP will be committed to tackling burglary all year round as it is an ongoing community concern.
At this time of year, opportunistic burglars may be thinking about the prospect of houses filled with extra valuables. Ensure your gifts stay safe by following some simple crime prevention tips: 🎁 Avoid leaving empty packaging of any valuables outside in clear view - this advertises what you have in your home, burglars will often not just target houses at random, but rather houses that they already know have items worth stealing inside 🎄 In addition to this, be mindful about showing your gifts on public social media accounts ☃️ If you'll be away from the house this Christmas consider lighting up your home using a timer switch to make it look occupied and do not do anything to advertise you will be out the house.
Please continue to report any information about burglary via 101 or at Home | Thames Valley Police (Always 999 if the crime is in progress)
