Police work to ensure everyone stays safe and vigilant this Autumn season |

Dear resident, Thames Valley Police is encouraging residents to stay safe and remain vigilant over the Halloween and Bonfire Night period to help prevent anti-social behaviour and ensure everyone can enjoy the festivities responsibly. Officers will be working closely with local authorities and community partners to provide a visible presence and support across our neighbourhoods throughout October and November. We want everyone to enjoy Halloween and Bonfire Night – we’re not here to spoil the fun. However, this time of year often brings an increase in demand for emergency services, and we ask for your cooperation in helping to keep our communities safe. While most people celebrate responsibly, unfortunately some individuals use this period to engage in unacceptable anti-social behaviour, putting themselves and others at risk. We are asking parents, carers, and young people to be mindful of their actions and to consider how their behaviour may affect others in the community. Last Halloween we received a number of reports of violent disorder in the Castlefield area. We have made a number of arrests in relation to this and those arrested remain on police bail while our enquiries continue. Harry Gehnich, Neighbourhood Inspector of Buckinghamshire, said: “There is a lot of work going on behind the scenes to help tackle violent disorder and antisocial behaviour in High Wycombe. "I hope these actions demonstrate that we take incidents of violence seriously and will take robust measures to address criminality and keep our communities safe. “We want to be clear that Halloween is not an excuse for disruptive or anti-social behaviour. Anyone found to be causing issues will be dealt with robustly and proportionately. “Our officers are committed to ensuring that residents feel safe both in public and in their homes during this period. We encourage everyone to enjoy Halloween responsibly and respectfully.”
