Hare coursing incident |
||
Police are appealing for witnesses following a hare coursing incident in Cleveley, near Enstone overnight between the 4th and 5th of October.
Hare coursing is an illegal activity where dogs are used to chase, catch or kill hares. It often takes place on farmland and causes significant distress to wildlife, as well as damage to crops, fields and property.
On this occasion, the offenders left injured hares suffering in the fields and caused substantial damage to the land. This type of cruelty and disregard for rural communities will not be tolerated.
We are urging anyone who may have seen suspicious vehicles, persons, or dogs in the area around the time of the incident to please come forward. Even small details such as vehicle descriptions, number plates, or the direction of travel could be vital to the investigation.
If you have any information, please contact Thames Valley Police via 101 or online at www.thamesvalley.police.uk, quoting reference 43250508284. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Help us protect our countryside and bring those responsible for this cruelty to justice.
