Safety on the Highways |
||
A message from our Local Neighbourhood team.
We are receiving several reports about the close passing of cyclists by vehicles. We want to remind you of the changes made to the highway code. When passing a cyclist, you should be giving 5ft (1.3M) of room at 30mph and the faster the speed the more space you need to allow. The highway code also says that passing too close can be seen as careless driving, resulting in a £100 fine and 3 points on your licence at a minimum.
Please remember this when driving in your local area.
Many thanks
