E-Scooter Seized by Town Centre NH Team
Yesterday, PC Atanasov from the Town Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team seized an e-scooter being ridden illegally in Aylesbury town centre., the rider was dealt with accordingly. This incident serves as an important reminder to follow all the rules when riding e-scooters to ensure everyone's safety.
There is still some confusion about the usage of privately owned e-scooters sold by legitimate companies. The truth is, these come with a legal warning:
There are only two ways to use e-scooters legally: 1. On private land with the landowner's permission 2. By renting one through an authorised rental scheme
E-scooters are considered mechanically propelled vehicles, which require a driving license and insurance to be used on a road or in a public place.
The Aylesbury NH team will continue to take a zero-tolerance approach to e-scooters being ridden illegally in our communities.
