Dear residents,

Tomorrow evening (22/05) will be the Great Linford Parish quarterly Community Forum.

This will take place from 7pm at the Parish Office located on St Leger Court in Great Linford.

Members of the community are encouraged to attend, to speak with local services and to raise concerns.

I have just been preparing some crime figures to update the Forum with tomorrow, and I have noticed a particular increase of reported Thefts from Vehicles in the parish recently. I would therefore like to remind residents of the following crime prevention advice:

- Always try and park in well-lit areas with CCTV coverage where possible

- Always lock your vehicles, and check they are locked before walking away from them

- Always empty them of valuables before leaving them unattended

Offenders of this type of crime are opportunists. They will usually scope out vehicles by looking through windows first. If they see something they want, they will cause damage to gain access and remove any valuables they can find. They will also commonly target vans in order to steal tools left inside.
