Commendation and Cadet Attestation Ceremony

Recently, West Berkshire Local Command Unit held a Commendation and Cadet Attestation Ceremony at Thames Valley Police Training Centre, Sulhamstead.

The ceremony was to recognise examples of outstanding service, bravery and dedication from people working within Thames Valley Police and members of the wider public. The former Mayor of Newbury, Andy Moore OBE was the guest speaker and gave an interesting and informative talk on his connection with West Berkshire.

The Police Cadet attestation is a formal declaration where the cadets promise to adhere to a code of conduct and serve their police force with honesty, courtesy and respect. It’s a ceremony that officially welcomes them into the cadet program.

The Volunteer Police Cadets are a diverse group of young people aged 13-18 years who have a desire to support their local communities and gain practical understanding of policing.

Our thanks also go to the volunteers at Thames Valley Police Museum for providing tours for all of the attendees along with their families.

Congratulations to everyone that received recognition, it was a successful evening and was enjoyed by all that attended.
