I am out patrolling the countryside as part of our operation Galileo, our operation that focuses on hare coursing offences.

Hare coursing is an illegal activity where dogs are used to chase, catch and kill hares. Not only are criminal offences taking place when this occurs but it is also used as a cover for more serious acquisitive crime offences in rural communities. There are also threats and intimidation towards the rural and isolated communities who challenge this behaviour.

Should you be suspicious that any crime is taking place, call the police on 999.

I will be the officer driving around in the big 4x4 police vehicle.
