Wokingham North NHPT Update

Here is a selection of the latest engagements and activities from your Wokingham North NHPT (Neighbourhood Policing Team), covering Earley, Woodley, Winnersh and Twyford areas.  As ever, if you have anything you think we need to know about but isn’t quite 101 or 999, please provide your concerns on the relevant area survey linked below, we’ll assist where we can or guide you to the appropriate channel.

As well as our regular duties, officers;

💂 PC Saunders and PCSO’s Elson, Hobart, Leightley, Sparks and Ispas attended Windsor Guard, for Changing of the Guard duties.

❤️ PC’s Simpson-Holland and Scullin attended a fear for welfare callout with concerns for a person and their mental state.  Thankfully, the officers were able to positively engage with them and ensure the correct help was put in place for their ongoing support.

🗣️ PC’s Young and Bogdanova, crewed with PCSO Brown, hosted a ‘PC Ben’ presentation and show and tell with the children at Charvil Piggot Primary School – we encourage all the local primary schools, nurseries and clubs to reach out if you wish to receive this presentation.

🚦 PC’s Young and Bogdanova have also been busy with a range of traffic offences including parking, and dealing with anti-social driving – If caught driving anti-socially once more, a further ticket will mean a vehicle seizure, so the advice is just don’t do it…

🚔 PCSO’s Ispas and Leightley, crewed with PC Szabo of the Wokingham South Team visited Earley St Peters school to host their own “show and tell”, including a demonstration of their kit and the car – naturally, the lights and the siren were a fan favourite!

🚪 Wokingham North was assisted by Wokingham South team as we executed a Warrant for a Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act – a male was arrested at the scene and is currently under investigation for drug offences.

🏍️ PCSO’s Elson and Brown assisted in the recovery of a stolen motorcycle following reports of an abandoned vehicle in the woods.  They were able to trace the registered keeper and made the necessary arrangements for its return to them.

🏨 PCSO’s Emmett and Hobart delivered training to the local hotels, upskilling staff members on the awareness and signs of child exploitation – we deliver these sessions annually to ensure we get to as many of the staff members and hotels who wish to partake, as possible.

⚖️ Wokingham North played their part in detaining a shoplifter who was found following the excellent descriptions given to us by the caller.  Once detained, further checks confirmed that he was already wanted on a recall to prison for other reasons as well as previous shopliftings.
