We have received a report of rogue traders operating in the Wigod Way area of Wallingford.   This rogue trading has involved door- step trading whereby males have knocked on a door offering to repair a roof tile.  Once the work has commenced it has become evident that they were actually damaging the roof.   Fortunately, on this occasion the home owner was able to get them to leave before too much damage was done.   

Could I please ask that you do not engage with traders who knock on your door offering to do work.   If they refuse to leave your property and become aggressive please call the police using 999 if you feel threatened.

A list of reputable traders can be found on the Trading Standards Buy with Confidence list.   There are some really good trades people out there who don't need to knock on doors to get work!

Please look out for neighbours especially those that are elderly and vulnerable and ensure they do not become victim to Rogue Traders.
