Safer Langley updates

To the community of Langley,

Safer Langley Project: Recent Updates

Our Safer Langley project continues to make strides in improving community safety. Here are some of our recent achievements:

  • Temporary CCTV Installation: In response to public concerns about safety, we successfully bid for a temporary CCTV camera in Langley Memorial Park. The camera has been operational for around a month.
  • Drug-Related Arrests:
    • Two males were arrested and charged with drug supply offences. One was bailed with strict conditions, while the other was remanded to prison.
    • A male and female were arrested on Cheviot Road on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs. They are currently on bail as investigations continue.
    • On Scholars Walk, two males were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. They are also on bail as investigations proceed.
  • Engagement Day with Roads Policing: Our roads policing colleagues joined us with off-road bikes for a day of action in Langley. We engaged with many residents during this initiative.
  • Shoplifting Offences: Three prolific shoplifters have been charged with multiple offences.
  • Anti-Social Behaviour: A closure order was issued for a property linked to ongoing anti-social behaviour.
  • These are just some of the significant outcomes we’ve achieved over the past couple of months. We remain committed to making Langley a safer place for everyone.

    Kind Regards,
