Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault in Newbury. At approximately 4.35pm on Sunday 2 March on the canal close to Northcroft Lane, a man in his forties, has been walking down the canal when he was approached by an offender who then punched him in the face and walked off. The offender has then attempted to hit other members of the public in the face before making off in the direction of the town centre. The victim did not suffer from any injuries. The offender is described as a white man, approximately 6ft 2ins tall and bald. He was seen to be wearing a dark green coat, green trousers and a grey hoodie. Investigating officer PC James Collings, based at Newbury police station, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses to this assault to please come forward.
“I am specifically appealing to anyone with dash-cam or mobile footage of the incident to please contact the force in case it has captured something which may assist our investigation. “Any witnesses or anyone with information about the assault should call 101 or make a report on our website, quoting reference number 43250103104. “Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via its website.” | ||||
