Tis the season of love and dating online is now one of the most popular ways for new couples to meet. Unfortunately amongst the genuine profiles are fake profiles set up by fraudsters. They are after your money and not your love. They are extremely manipulative.

How to protect yourself

Keep all communication on the dating platform you are using - fraudsters will quickly try to move communications off the dating website.

Don't be convinced by profile pictures that might have been from somewhere else on the website. You can check photos using reverse image search on the internet 

Do your own research on the person, can you confirm what they are telling you about themselves? 

Never send money  or receive/transfer money on their behalf.
