Neighbourhood West Newsletter

What a busy time it has been for the Slough West Neighbourhood Team!

With the festive period over with for another year, it is now a time for reflection on how that period went: there were a few ASB incidents with regards to fireworks and general Anti-Social behaviour but these were isolated incidents that were dealt with effectively. Regular foot patrols were conducted across the West area giving officers the time to speak to the residents in a more personal way.

There was an increased officer presence in the town centre for the New Year’s celebrations, just to ensure the safety of everyone out celebrating the New Year.

Targeting ASB- There has been a number of Operations and activities completed that have been conducted which have specifically targeted different aspects of asb.

A large number of asb Surveys have been completed across the whole of the West area by a number of different officers. By doing these surveys, it can give the team a better understanding of what is happening in the local area and what needs to be a priority for the team.

Operations have been conducted around E-Scooter use along Farnham Road and words of advice were given to the individuals about E-Scooters around the danger of using them as well as them being illegal to use on the road.

School Talks- There have been a number of school talks completed by the Neighbourhood Team over the festive period with an emphasis on the following topics: knife crime, internet/ online safety, Anti- Social Behaviour, stranger danger and county lines/ drug dealing.

These school talks have been completed at a number of Primary and Secondary schools across the West area.

Officers attended a careers fair at Herschel Grammar school to talk to students and provide information about their future career aspirations and opportunities in Thames Valley Police.

School talks about the above topics are crucial to deliver to the children as it gives them an understanding of the topics as well as better communication between them and the Police- building trust and breaking down barriers.

Closure Orders- A closure order was executed on Lodge Close to prevent anti-social behaviour from affecting other local residents and the community.

Have Your Says- A number of these engagement events have been completed in the West area:

  • The Centre on Farnham Road
  • Manor Park
  • Morrisons on Scafell Road
