Good evening residents of Langley, 

You may have seen your local Neighbourhood Policing Team out on patrol in your area this evening conducting a Clear Car Campaign. This involves officers checking for insecure vehicles, or vehicles displaying valuables that may be the target of offenders committing thefts from motor vehicles. 

We are pleased to say that over 500 vehicles were checked in the area surrounding Meadfield Road and a number of residents engaged with regarding the security of their vehicle. A special thank you to those of you that stopped to say hello!

Please see below some handy tricks and tips to increase the security of your vehicle: 

> Do not display your valuables in your car, even an odd coat or plastic bag left behind can tempt a thief. 

> If you have a garage, use it. If not, always try to park in a well lit, open location. 

> Lock all doors, close all windows and shut the sunroof every time you leave your car.

> Protect valuable items you take in you car by marking them with you registration number or postcode using an ultraviolet pen.
