Good evening residents of Humber and Tamar Way,

You may have seen Neighbourhood officers on foot in the area from 6.30pm this evening. Officers were conducted a Clear Car Campaign - checking for insecure vehicles and those with valuables on display that may be the target of offenders committing thefts from motor vehicles. 

In total, approximately 150 vehicles were checked and a number of residents engaged with regarding the security of their vehicle.

Please see some handy tricks and tips to increase the security of your vehicle: 

Do not display your valuables in your car, even an odd coat or plastic bag left behind can tempt a thief. If you have a garage and can, please use it. If not, always try to park in a well lit, open location. Lock all doors, close all windows and shut the sunroof each time you leave your car unattended. Protect valuable items you take in you car by marking them with you registration number or postcode using an ultraviolet pen.
