We are seeing an increase in the theft of spare wheels from vehicles such as 4x4s, where the spare wheel is located on the back of the vehicle

- Protect your spare wheels with additional locks, or locking wheel nuts

- Park in well-lit car parks, where CCTV is in operation

- Reverse park up against walls or hedges to make access to the rear of the vehicle more difficult

- Have good quality CCTV covering your property and driveway

- Look out for your neighbours' properties, and report anything suspicious
