Crime Prevention Advice - Protecting your Vehicles

Hello Resident

Please see the below Crime Prevention Advice to keep your vehicles safe and secure from theft.

  • Park Smart: Always park in well-lit and busy areas. If possible, use driveways or garages to reduce the risk of theft. If you park on a driveway. Having a Ring Doorbell or CCTV adds as a deterrent.

  • Lock Up: Ensure all doors and windows are securely locked before leaving your vehicle. Double-check that your vehicle is locked, even if you're only stepping away for a short time.

  • Remove Valuables: Take valuable items out of your vehicle when unattended. This includes electronics, bags, and any items that may attract thieves. If they need to remain in your vehicle, hide these so they are out of sight,

  • Install a Tracker: Vehicle trackers can help recover your vehicle if it is stolen. Consider installing a tracker for added security.

  • Visible Deterrents: Use steering wheel locks and other visible deterrents to discourage thieves from targeting your vehicle.

  • Report Suspicious Activity: Stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police. You can report this on 101 or through the following link - Report a crime | Thames Valley Police
  • I have attached some additional Crime Prevention Posters which give some additional information.
