Murder investigation launched following death of man – Garsington

Dear Resident,

Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit has launched a murder investigation following an incident in Garsington on Sunday (15/12).

Officers were called by South Central Ambulance Service at 10.07pm on Sunday (15/12) after the victim, a man aged in his seventies, was found with a serious head injury at a property on Oxford Road in Garsington.

He was taken to hospital for treatment, but sadly the victim has died of his injuries in hospital today (17/12).

The man’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

A 40-year-old man, from Garsington, was originally arrested on Sunday on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and assault on a police officer. He has now been further arrested on suspicion of murder.

Anybody who believes that they may have any information that may assist this investigation to contact Thames Valley Police by calling us on 101 or reporting online, quoting reference 43240606678.
