It’s been a busy few months in West Area with Halloween falling in half term, along with Diwali and fireworks night. Although there was some asb the celebrations largely went off without incident, with only a few individuals having fireworks seized from them. Closely followed by Remembrance Sunday where we ensured four services across the Slough area were safe and completed without incident.
School Talks - We have completed several school talks outlining the dangers of carrying knives. The Neighbourhood team complete a rolling cycle of school talks at both primary and secondary schools through the year. We cover topics including, stranger danger, knife crime, e-safety, county lines drug dealing and asb. These events give children time not only to learn how to be safe but also become accustomed to seeing police and PCSO’s building trust and breaking down barriers.
Safer Car Campaign - We have been visiting local hotels to talk to the patrons about leaving items in their cars or on display to prevent theft from motor vehicles which have seen an increase in the last few months. We have also been walking around local neighbourhoods trying car doors on driveways, not to break in! but to let the home owner know their car is insecure.
Closure Orders – We have secured a number of closure orders to prevent asb in homes affecting their neighbours and the community, two most recent ones being on Glyncroft and Monksfield Way.
HAVE YOUR SAY – We held ‘Have Your Say’ meetings at Villiers Road, Asda Cippenham, The Centre Farnham Road along with burglary information sessions at Villiers Road and Asda Cippenham. Future Have Your Says; ASDA CIPPENHAM 27/12/2024 11-12
