Suspicious Messages / Scams

Hi Resident,

This time of year we see an increase in reports of Suspicious messages and Scam messages with links included in the messages. These messages are not genuine and if you click the link you risk losing personal information or giving a stranger access to your bank account!

Please see the example included in this email and remain vigilant.

- Do not click the links

- Do not reply to the messages

- Block the number messaging you

- Report the Scam messages to Action Fraud on their website (copy and paste this address) www.actionfraud.police.uk/reportscam

- Only use links from a trusted and known source

- If you have a friend or family member who is good with technology you can ask them for advice

- Normally scams try to rush you into action so you cannot think about it, take a breath and think logically about the contact.

Remember to be sceptical of messages out of nowhere.

Stay Safe Everyone
