Community Forum – Rural Minutes Date of forum: 15/10/2024 Detailed below is the minutes from the Banbury NHPT Community Forum which took place on the 15th October 2024. Agreed priorities: Speeding Parking at schools Anti-social Behaviour (ASB)- Illegal motorbike usage Motorbike usage in rural community Concerns around motorbike usage in the rural areas North Newington, Wroxton and Drayton. Op JAZZMAN Emails will be sent to the Drayton Parish Council who will relay to District councillors on information on what to do when there are incidents of illegal motorbike usage on farmlands.An increase in communications for the community via social media and sending emails to the Parish Councils so they can share information in village newspapers.Motocross events in Wroxton- don’t have planning permission- issues in Horton and other villagesOperation JAZZMAN/ farm theft data to be discussed in person at next Community Forum. Community Speed Watch Clifton requires more residents to take part in Speed WatchTraining issues – Ad blocker requirement has made it difficult for people to complete the training.Forum members would like TVP trainer to do a physical appearance and give roads advice.TVP to check letters are issued to members of the community who are exceeding the 20 mph speed limit.Cherwell council to look into 20 mph buffer zones.An increase in communications via social media and TV Alerts TVP Trainer Response Clifton Deddington Speed Watch 8 volunteers only for Clifton Deddington speed watch15 August 2024 - 354 accurate reports of vehicles exceeding speed limit, resulting in 354 letters sent to drivers. (each accurate report obtained, results in a litter being sent to the driver). In total 489 reports submitted.Average excessive speed is 25-34 MPHTraining – It is not possible for the TVP trainer to attend in person to conduct training. Only one person (local lead speed watch organiser) is required to complete online training, remaining volunteers only have to take part in proactively recording data of speeding vehicles.Community Speed watch can be set up any resident in area, it does not require the Councils input. TVP have issued fines to people parking on PARSONS STREET, BANBURY still looking for a long term solution for this issue. Date and location for next meeting will be sent soon! |
