Neighbourhood police update


Dear Resident,

We wanted to share with you some work that is being done around specific crimes in your area. 

 

Drugs & Drug Dealing: 

Windsor neighbourhood policing department are tackling drug use and drug dealing in the community through proactive engagement patrols and out of court disposals. The team are educating young people around the risks of drugs through independent educational drug support agencies. We are enforcing the laws and legislation by seizing drugs and making arrests to prevent further criminal activity in the area. Intelligence around drug dealing is consistently being reviewed and submitted and the team urge anyone who witnesses drug dealing in Windsor to provide this information via the Thames Valley police website.

 

Anti-social behaviour:

Windsor neighbourhood policing department are working alongside community partners and council in order to deter and reduce anti-social behaviour within the community. This consists of engaging with the youth justice department and community wardens to understand where the most anti-social behaviour incidents are occurring and putting in plans to combat this to make the community a safer place to live. The team primarily focus on graffiti, street drinking and youth related public order incidents and are taking robust actions to reduce these types of incidents by engagement and issuing community protection notices. Officers have urged the public to sign up to TV Alerts to stay up to date with the latest information on anti-social behaviour in Windsor.

 

Theft: 

The team at Windsor police station are aware of the current spike in theft from motor vehicles, theft from shops, and theft of motor vehicles in Windsor. Officers are requesting that the public report any theft related incidents on the Thames Valley Police website, 101 or via 999 if it’s an emergency and you need the police immediately. We are patrolling at a consistent rate and engaging with communities which are directly affected. Crime prevention advice is offered to those affected and to those at risk of being a victim of theft. The neighbourhood department are disrupting key offenders and putting those involved before the courts.
