Theft from motor vehicles

The Princes Risborough Neighbourhood Team would like to remind people to remove valuables from view when leaving their cars unattended.  We have had a number of reports recently where vehicles that have been parked in rural locations, have been broken into and items stolen.  Please remember a rucksack containing a rain jacket may look like nothing to you, but to a criminal its an opportunity to find something of value, which leads to a broken window and damage to your vehicle.

The team have been out today conducting checks in some of our rural carparks and have found a number of items left on display, including a handbag, rucksack and a gift bag (containing a present).

Number plates have also been stolen recently.  You can purchase anti-tamper screws that will prevent criminals pulling your number plates off. They use these number plates to commit other vehicle related crimes including cloning of vehicles.

Please remember to remove all items from view and to ensure all windows are closed and your vehicle locked.

Thank you.
