Dear Members,

this is a message from our neighbourhood watch coordinators to all members of our Thames Valley alert system. 

We would like to  invite you to register with Neighbourhood Watch, as this will allow you to receive alert messages from them as well as Thames valley Police. This will include more alerts about crimes that have taken place in your area and relevant crime prevention advice. 

For example, cons & scams is something that has heavily impacted members of our local communities recently. The neighbourhood watch regularly provides crucial advice on this crime, as well as guidance on reporting these crimes and attempted crimes. 

Registering for this information is free of charge and it can be achieved by amending your existing registration for the Thames Valley Alert system. 

To do so:

-        Visit : www.ourwatch.org.uk  (this is the website of the national body for Neighbourhood Watch).

-        Click on ‘Log In’ at the top of the page.  You will need your existing username and password for Thames valley Alerts.  (If you don’t have them, instructions will follow shortly)

-        Logging in will take you to the Members’ Area.

-        In the Members’ Area, click on ‘Information Providers’ and click on ‘Neighbourhood Watch’ in the resultant list, provided it is not already ticked.

-        Click on ‘Save’.  Job done!

If you don’t have your username and password:

-        Click on ‘Reset Password’ and enter your email address or your mobile phone number.

-        Click on ‘Send Password Reset’.  It will then send a link to your email for you to reset your password and you will be able to gain access to the members' area.  You can then follow the instructions above to register. 

Once this is done, you will receive information from  Neighbourhood Watch  and you will be regarded as a Member of that organisation.  The website will also give you information on existing neighbourhood watch groups in your area along with how to start a new group.
