Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a man has been jailed for drugs offences in Reading.

Pierre Atangana, aged 29, of Kennet Walk, Reading, was jailed for two years and six months at Reading Crown Court yesterday (5/4).

Atangana was also disqualified from driving for two years.

A forfeiture and destruction order was made in relation to drugs, phones and cash. 

At an earlier hearing on 26 February, Atangana pleaded guilty to one count each of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs - crack cocaine, possession with intent to supply Class A drugs - heroin, acquiring criminal property, driving whilst disqualified, and using a motor vehicle with no insurance.

At about 2pm on 24 January this year, Thames Valley Police officers stopped a Ford Transit, due to suspicions that the occupant was in possession of drugs.

During a search of the vehicle, 94 wraps of drugs were found with a street value of about £2,000.

A phone was also discovered, and having examined the phone there was evidence it was being used to arrange to meet members of the public to sell crack cocaine and heroin. 

Atangana, who was driving the vehicle, was arrested at the scene and following an investigation by Thames Valley Police was charged with the offences the following day.
