As part of our ongoing rural commitments we are today highlighting the issues around livestock worrying, in particular dogs off leads in areas that have new-born lambs, and pregnant sheep.

We know the overwhelming majority of dog walkers are wholly responsible and abide by the law around using leads, or muzzles in such areas that are vulnerable.

But, every year issues arise around this offence of livestock worrying and we would just like to emphasise the importance of keeping dogs under control.

Farm owners, and landowners alike genuinely appreciate your efforts, and so do the sheep...of course.
