On 6th February, PC Goreham from Roads Policing Team 🚔 along with PCSO's Welnitz and Cleaver from Maidenhead NHPT attended Claire's Court Junior school, Maidenhead to give an input about road safety to the Mini Police officers from the school.

The children enjoyed the informative session and were able to have a go at using a hand held speed gun device nearby 🔫 and also asked PC Goreham lots of questions about his role as a Traffic officer 👮‍♂️ 🚔👍

Mini police is an initiative across the Thames Valley and beyond which allows children from participating schools to get a valuable insight into policing and gives them a chance to see what different roles in the police do in an enjoyable, interesting and informal way.

Among other benefits it also allows officers and PCSO's to engage with the children, building positive relationships throughout the year 🙂 As well as educating the children, exercises like this also help residents and parents driving in the vicinity of schools, to ensure they are driving safely and considerately to ensure everyone is kept safe.
