Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

Thames Valley put this through on social media in the early hours but thought you would like it scheduled a little later. I have sent to all NW Coordinators and members in Littlemore and Rose Hill. Please could you  share or copy and paste to your neighbours and non-members as a matter of community safety.

Thames Valley Police has authorised a Section 60 order following an incident in Oxford.
At around 8.50pm yesterday (19/5) there was an altercation between a group of youths, armed with weapons, in Desborough Road, Rosehill.
Seven arrests have been made in connection with this incident. They have been arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon and are currently in custody.
As a result of this incident, a Section 60 order has been authorised covering the Oxford local policing area.
The order is in place until 11pm today (20/5) whereupon it will be reviewed and an extension considered if deemed necessary.
Inspector Lyndon Barret, based at Cowley police station, said: “Following this incident, a Section 60 order has been authorised in Oxford, which gives officers more powers with regards to stop and search.
“The purpose of this order is to reduce the risk of further violence taking place.
“Members of the public might see an increased police presence in the area during this time.
“Anyone with information about this incident is asked to make a report online, quoting reference 43210216835, or by calling 101.”
